19+ First Love

Rachel Jaffe writes an adults-only web novel to pay her bills, and she built its male lead out of the college senior she had a crush on. She is not a popular author. The editor assigned to her book turns out to be that same senior, so the two of them are working together on a story about him that he does not know is about him. He does not recognize her. She was invisible on campus then and she stays invisible now, and she adds glasses and a perm on top of that so the connection is never made. He pushes her for stronger material, harder and more explicit, and keeps assigning her scenes the two of them then end up stumbling into for real. He is also nothing like the gentle senior she remembers. He is blunt and sharp with her, and she cannot work out what happened to him in the years since. What Rachel does not know is that her first love, Zach Levin, has a twin brother with the opposite temperament, and it is the brother who is editing her book.
