Four men raped and killed Serena Jenkins four years ago, on the day Alan Shaw had planned to propose to her. He got there a step too late and saw the four of them walking away, laughing. He has been in a psychiatric hospital far from the city since, the most dangerous patient there, and he has just passed his 144th evaluation and been discharged.
