Synopsis
Aria Scuderi grew up in Chicago knowing her life was not hers to spend. Her father runs a mafia family, and from childhood she was told that the family's arrangements came before anything she might want for herself. At eighteen she is handed over to seal an alliance between two clans. The man she is married to is Luca Vitiello, heir to the New York organization, cold and quick to frighten people. Aria arrives in a household where authority rests on fear and where trusting anyone is a luxury nobody can afford. She is a wife by arrangement, with no say in the terms and no clear idea what will be asked of her. What she does not expect is the pull between them, which frightens her because it is real. Luca was raised inside the same violence she was married into, and she has to work out whether giving him her body, and possibly more than that, would be the worst thing she could do to herself or the only way she gets to stay alive in his house.

Second watch and the rubber prop knife and rushed pacing bother me even more. These leads deserve a longer format.
They're adapting Cora Reilly's book and somehow made it this flat. The big knife scene uses an obvious rubber prop, and the mafia has zero actual menace. Just read the book.

I love her! She actually stands up for herself, you GO girl. Doesn't hurt that Luca is HOTTTTTT
Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<
