Samantha is chief executive of Wei Group and her husband Quentin is its chairman. They have been together eight years and built the company side by side. The entertaining that came with the work wore down her health and left her ovaries badly damaged, and she still wants a child with him. As the company goes public, Quentin begins an affair with his secretary, Laura, and Laura gets pregnant. Samantha agrees to keep the marriage on condition that he settles things with Laura, then goes abroad for treatment.
