The Sterling family's curse is still in force. Arthur Sterling has been poisoned, and the poison is a deadly one. Berry, his daughter, goes looking for a way to save him and puts herself in danger more than once doing it. While she is at it, Arthur's adopted daughter Joanna comes home from abroad. Joanna is jealous of Berry and makes things hard for her at every turn, and she brings in an ally, a woman who says she is the Chosen Girl who can save the Sterling family. Together the two begin working against Berry.
