Between Two Worlds: A Bride for a Bun

Danny Scott arrives in the Daran Dynasty with a bag of steamed buns and nothing else to his name. The Dual Portal System binds itself to him and gives him its terms. He needs a wife. Energy that comes to him from her charges the system, and the charged system is what moves him between the two worlds. A gong sounds at the village entrance. The matchmaker has brought women for the men to pick from. Danny hands over the buns for one of them. She is sick when he brings her home and he treats her until she is well. Her twin sister comes after that, then a girl who has been knocked around by the household she lives in. The system levels up along the way and opens a storage space for him. The portal lights up at the house and he starts carrying things back from the modern world. A drought hits and he makes rain over the fields. He marries again, this time a woman whose father was killed by bandits, and the system goes to its fourth level. He goes after the bandits who killed her father.
