The 101st Time I Let Go

Fiona Simmons and Xavier Stanley grew up together and were a couple from early on. There was a fire. Xavier came out of it holding that Fiona had been there and had not pulled him out. They married and stayed married three years. In that time Xavier started arguments and filed for divorce a hundred times. Each time Fiona apologised and asked to be forgiven, and the marriage went on. On the hundred and first filing they went to the civil affairs office together. Outside it one of Xavier's friends put a foot out and Fiona went down, and the friends mocked her out loud while she was on the ground. Her knee was cut. Xavier looked at her, said nothing, and left with them for a party being held to welcome Jenny Simmons back. Fiona ended the marriage after that. Someone she did not know had put an offer to her, and she took it.
