Captain, Your Fiancée Married Someone Else

Zoe Long is about to register her marriage to Skye Nash, a pilot she has been with for six years. Before the papers are signed, Skye's first love comes back, the woman he never got over, and she starts needling Zoe wherever the two of them meet. Zoe works out from this that Skye had kept her around to get over the other woman, and that the six years had been a stand-in for that. Zoe's mother had long ago lined up a man for her, Nick Carter, and the two families have business reasons for the match. Zoe agrees to marry him and goes in expecting nothing from it. Nick turns out to be steady with her, and over time she learns from him what being cared for is like. Skye, meanwhile, is left dealing with the moods of the woman who came back. Later on that woman's real character comes out, and Skye regrets what he did. Zoe and Nick have by then settled into a quiet life together.
