Falling Deep

Asuna works as a civil servant and takes the job seriously. Her boss harasses her sexually at the office, and at home her parents put pressure on her and think mostly of themselves. At this point she cannot understand how anyone could fall for a host. Then she meets Rui, a host with the manner of a puppy, and the time she spends with him takes the pressure off the rest of her life. She starts going back. The visits eat through her money until she has 70,000 yen left and her credit cards have been suspended, and from there she lives on borrowed money that keeps growing. Whenever he smiles at her she thinks it has been worth it. Her feeling for him turns by degrees into something that is as much hatred as love, and she goes on seeing him.
