The Payback Plan

Luke Carter means to keep Carter Group in his own hands. His wife, Jocelyn Scott, has been involved with Wesley Hart for a long time, the son she gives birth to was fathered by Wesley, and the Scott family intends that boy to take the company when he turns eighteen. Luke is in the room for the birth and stands there without going near her. He says nothing about any of it for the next eighteen years. His assistant, Sarah Taylor, works with him on a plan for selling off and moving the assets, done a piece at a time and out of sight of the house. Alex grows up as Luke's heir. On the day Alex turns eighteen, Jocelyn and Wesley drop the pretence about each other, the Scotts hand the group to Alex, and Luke is put out of the house with nothing.
