The Landlady and Her "Broke" Husband

Chloe Lawson owns a good deal of property and spends her days collecting rent, though almost nobody knows how much she is worth. She catches her boyfriend Jared Foley cheating and walks out. Not long after, a car accident involving Sterling Vance, the heir to the Vance Group, leaves her without her recent memory. She wakes up certain that Sterling is the person who helped her when she was a child, and she wants to marry him. Sterling is being pushed into an arranged match by his family, so he says nothing to correct her and goes through with the wedding while keeping his position at the company hidden. They move into a small rented flat and live on very little. Chloe goes out on her rent rounds and talks about opening a bakery. Sterling burns toast, keeps a flat expression, and buys the shopping centre next door without telling her. Jared wants her back. Kayla Dunn wants Sterling ruined, and the two of them work together against the couple. Sterling starts using the influence he has been pretending not to have. Chloe's memory comes back in pieces, and with it the matter of who her childhood rescuer actually was.
