Jane Mercer's spirit beast dies, and Granite University fires her over it. Summoning again, she pulls in a baby zombie from another world, Rotter Willis, graded FFF, the lowest rank there is. Rotter is a Zombie King. He has several evolution forms and abilities that rate SSS, and none of that shows yet. The two of them enter the National Mentor Assessment and win it by killing a hidden boss, a dragon-type opponent, despite sabotage along the way. Vice Chancellor Wilson Hall of Sanova University and the Perry family keep coming after them. Jane takes a post as vice chancellor at Aurelian University and is handed Class 6, ranked last. Her training methods and Rotter's evolutions carry the class through the freshman trials. The global student exchange brings them up against Sanova again. Hall and the Perrys set the trap in an outdoor dungeon: high-rank bosses in numbers, inside a zone where magic does not work. Rotter tears the corpse-suppressing talisman off his own forehead and wakes as the Zombie King. The seal breaks and Jane lives, but the power runs away with him, and he goes berserk. Jane kisses him to bring his mind back. They have been through dying together now, and the two of them are closer for it.
