His Athlete Boyfriend

In the ring box Zane keeps there is a slip of paper marked D.K., and Damian finds it. Daisy is captain of the cheer squad. Damian settles on her as the person the ring is meant for. Damian plays soccer at Oak Valley High and Zane is captain of the football team, and the two of them have been rivals for a long time. Zane kissed him without warning at training and has been after him openly ever since, having wanted him for years. Damian holds him off. They needle each other, Zane carries him in his arms once, there are flowers by the sea, and there are stretches where each of them stays out of the other's way. A kiss in drama class is real on both sides. Zane puts himself in front of Damian during trouble in an alley. Damian's guard comes down some. Then something at the school dance is taken the wrong way and Damian arranges to graduate early so he can be gone.
