After Losing Me in the Styx, His Regret Came Too Late

Flora is human. The sea god's household took her in as a child and Cassius grew up calling her his sister. She wanted the divine authority that household held, and she wanted Cassius. Eleanor is a princess of the earth dragons. She married Cassius, and the wedding ended with his parents dead and the sea trident damaged. Flora was found badly injured and named Eleanor's father as the one who had done it to take power for himself. Cassius killed him. He kept Eleanor beside him and worked the rest of it out on her there, and he let Flora do with her as she liked. Eleanor was pregnant when this started and lost the child, and her eyes were put out, and by the end her name was ruined as well. She had nothing left that she wanted. What she settled on was giving up her rank among the gods and spending it to bring Cassius's parents back, which would close the account between the two families. As the rank came apart the memory of what had been done to her went out where anyone could see it, and Flora was in the middle of that. Cassius stripped off his own godhood and went down into the Styx after her.
