Unwanted Mother, Untouchable Princess

Luna Shaw, who takes in washing on a market street, is the Grand Princess. Her son Gale Lee does not know it. She raised him alone on that work and paid for his schooling. He is ashamed of her poverty. He tricks her out of the jade pendant she keeps on her and pawns it, hires a couple to pose as his parents so that he looks well born, and has her beaten in front of a crowd. An Imperial Commissioner follows the pawned pendant back to her and says who she is. After that Luna cuts the boy off. She closes every road he had to an official post. She then lays a trap that brings Prince Ping and the Duke Protector into the open. The two are behind a kinship claim that is to be settled by a blood test, and behind a plan to force the throne. Luna breaks up both, and then begins the work of clearing out the court.
