Fishing for the Pantheon

Silas commands a war god, and he uses it to collect taxes by force, raid other islands and strip them. He is one of eight billion people trapped in a sea of fallen gods, where each person gets an island of about twelve square metres and a fishing rod, and he has worked out that the fastest way up is to take what other people have pulled from the water. Ronan is a former combat engineer. He wakes a talent that lets him copy one object a day, and the first thing he fishes out is Thor, which gives him power and the beginnings of infrastructure. After that come Aphrodite, Heracles, Athena and Odin, and around them he builds farming, trade, medicine and a defence force. Silas attacks Ronan's pantheon repeatedly, and every assault ends with resources changing hands in Ronan's favour. Using tactics, illusions and the gods themselves, Ronan pushes toward the core islands and the remains of the titans.
