Asgard's Frozen Tears

In Asgard the dead go to Hel, who can put one of them back among the living for a set number of days on terms she sets herself. Valeria is the daughter of the god of war. She was raised by Lysander, Odin's son, who took the place of an uncle to her and shares no blood with her. She falls in love with him and he will not look at what he feels, given what he has been to her. When she tries to push past it he puts distance between them. She goes to the war between the Aesir and the giants to make her own name there and is killed in the fighting, with the thing between them still unsettled. Hel offers her ten days back in the world. If Lysander says he loves her inside those ten days she lives, and if he does not she stays below for good. Valeria takes the offer and returns to find him engaged to Seraphina, Loki's daughter.
