He is run through with stakes of holy iron and marked with the Blood Seal, which tracks him wherever he goes, and he flees into exile. The blacksmith Cade goes with him. The two descend to the core of Hell looking for the First Flame, the fire Lucifer needs to reforge his six wings, and the reforging is done under torment. On the way down he finds civilians and the souls of the dead being burned as fuel and pulls them out.
