Fate of the Dragon’s Bride

Dragons rule the continent, and a woman carrying a dragon's child outside a marriage counts as unclean and can be put on trial for it. Lydia's family sends her to marry the dragon king Lucian in her sister's place. He is spoken of as a savage. Lydia runs off in the night. A blizzard puts her in a cabin with one of the dragon kind whose power has gone past his control, and she sleeps with him to bring it back down. It is her first time. She is caught the next day, and by then she is carrying a child. That is what puts her on the trial platform. Lucian is looking for her the whole time. He pulls a scale off his own heart to work a tracking spell with, and the crystal ball gives him the cabin. The woman in it was Lydia, and the child is his.
