She Who Carves the Dawn

In the 1980s Malick Stone becomes director of the machinery factory, and his former girlfriend has his ear. She works on him, and he begins to doubt the woman he is engaged to. That woman is Catherine Reed. She stayed with him through the years when they were poor and helped get him to the director's post. He accuses her of smearing red ink on the cutting machine to fake an injury. He makes her give up the house that was to be their marital home, and her post as head of the production workshop goes too. Then she is framed and sent to prison. Catherine breaks off the engagement and gets into Northwest University of Engineering, where she starts over.
