Palace Sovereign Lord

Fitz cooks at a five-star hotel. His mother arranges a blind date for him, and at the restaurant he sits down at the wrong table, across from Gabriella, who heads a business group worth several billion. One mix-up leads to the next and the two of them end up married. There is pressure from the family about his standing, and to deal with it he says that he is the Sovereign Lord. The claim happens to be true, though no one around him knows it. Three years earlier, as Fitzgerald, he had been ordered to hold the border of twenty-four kingdoms in a time of crisis. He was betrayed and poisoned, came back with the victory anyway, and then disappeared, and the three years since have gone into the hotel kitchen. In the middle of the pretence, what happened three years ago starts to come out.
