Sass Meets Suit

Elara Hayes has been up all night rehearsing a weak, long-suffering heroine. She slips in the bathtub, is electrocuted, and comes round inside the script as that heroine. She keeps her own temper and her own century's manners, so the meek part does not survive contact with her. She is married for show to Lucian Drake, who runs a corporation and is a target of the schemes around him, and the two of them argue every day, with a younger sister, a grasping brother-in-law and toxic parents adding to it. The arguing turns into something else. Just as it is heading for a happy ending, her stepmother stabs her. Whether she can get back to her own life, and what becomes of her and Lucian, is left open.
