Copy & Conquer

Ryan is nearly killed in a traffic accident while chasing money for a girlfriend who is cheating on him and only interested in what he brings in. He comes out of it with a system that copies things, objects and other people's abilities alike. He runs into an antiques dealer in a crowd and copies the man's eye for valuables. He picks out an imperial seal that everyone else has written off as a scrap of metal, turns a few hundred into a fortune, and embarrasses his ex and the rich heir she is now with. Through Gala Crespo, an heiress, he gets into the Golden Phoenix auction, where the two of them try to get back at him and he shows that a supposed Tang treasure is a chamber pot. He takes the most valuable piece in the room at the lowest price. In return, the heir bribes the one doctor who can save Gala's father, and the doctor uses that to press Gala and humiliate her. Ryan copies the man's needle technique, treats the old man himself, and he and Gala end up together.
