Eric Gibson grew up used to getting what he wanted, and he does not let go of things. His father marries Jenna Black, a striking woman whose past nobody in the family knows much about, and Eric cannot stop looking at her. Admiration turns into obsession. He tries charm first, then provocation, and Jenna turns him down. After that he decides he will have her some other way. He arranges things so that she is cut off from the people around her, and he works on his father until doubt sets in and the marriage starts to come apart. What Eric calls love keeps getting more dangerous, and the whole household is pulled into it.
