Duty Or Desire

Jon Jackson keeps a mistress, Rose Barclay, and a wife, Lily, who knows nothing about her. Rose works as a call girl, and the money she earns is what pays for the Jacksons' expensive life. She also runs their household from behind it, holding the arrangement together while Lily believes the income is her husband's. When Lily finds out and confronts Jon, he does not apologize. He tells her Rose is now part of how they live and that cutting her off is not something they can afford. Rose then meets Ted Georges, a billionaire businessman who is looking for someone to actually love. His steadiness and the fact that he means it get through to her, and she starts putting together a life of her own instead of being a ghost inside somebody else's marriage. As she pulls back from the Jacksons, Jon and Lily begin losing the world they had stopped noticing was paid for.
