Liam Ward crosses into another world and gains the War-King System, which grants him skills and items through a daily check-in. He enters basic training as a recruit, posts scores high enough to be assigned to the Night Tiger reconnaissance company, and completes the Fang selection course. He is then attached to the Lone Wolf strike unit, listed on paper as Logistics Depot 026. He trains in marksmanship, concealment, assassination and the placement of trip-mines, and builds the Bedrock firewall, after which he takes charge of technical development for Department X. Leading Lone Wolf B Group, he frees the hostages held at Langde Stockade, breaks up a drug trafficking ring and a mercenary outfit, and goes undercover in Yuanshan Town against the Ma family. In a joint exercise against the Black Tiger special battalion he wins on tactics. He is supported through this by his girlfriend Ye Youdie and his sister Lin Xiaomo, and serves alongside Zhuang Yan and Chen Xiwa. He is promoted out of sequence from private to lieutenant.
