Tonia and Steph are twins. Steph has bullied Tonia since childhood and has taken from her whatever Tonia had, including her place and her opportunities. Tonia became engaged to Jaden. She then found Jaden with Steph, and the engagement ended. Michael, a childhood friend of Tonia's, came back to town. He had money and connections by then, and he set about protecting her.
