Synopsis

In the early 1980s, Ellie is forced to marry John, a scarred logging foreman, in her sister's place. Expecting a hot-tempered brute, she finds a rugged husband who adores her and a fierce mother-in-law who always has her back. Blessed with uncanny luck, Ellie discovers rare mushrooms and century-old ginseng in the mountains, turning the family's fortunes around. Soon, the once-pitied bride becomes the forest camp's richest woman, while fighting off greedy relatives and her shameless sister.

Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
