Rachel married Andrew while hiding who she really was, and for three years she looked after him while he was paralysed from the legs down. Kayla, who had been involved with Andrew before the marriage, came back and arranged things so that Rachel appeared to be cheating. Andrew believed it and accused her, and Rachel lost the pregnancy. She filed for divorce and went back to her own family home. Kayla told people she was carrying Andrew's child and moved into the house. Rachel wanted the divorce finalised, so she found a treatment for Andrew's legs and got him walking again. Andrew did not want her to go. Her real identity came out during this period and the two of them worked through what each had got wrong about the other. Kayla understood by then that Andrew had never had feelings for her, and she took Rachel by force to get her out of the way.
