Sorry, You Came Late!

The guard Talia loved was a prince from an enemy kingdom, and he had taken the post to get close to her sister. Talia was the king's neglected daughter and her sister was the child of his mistress, so no one at court was going to take her side. When the kingdom fell, Talia agreed to a marriage of peace with the leader of the barbarian tribe. Her sister and the prince had tried to have her killed before she left. Living among the tribe she came to care for her husband. The prince changed his mind about her and came after her, and arrived to find her married and no longer the girl he had used.
