My Useless Uncle Made Me A Billionaire Heiress

Bella's mother is a small-time actress. She gets shut out and pushed around at work, and she keeps that away from her daughter, who grows up round-cheeked and noisy on whatever the work brings in. Bella's uncle gambles, and one day he turns up at the door about his debts. The argument gets physical and he knocks Bella to the floor. The jade pendant she carries has been dormant until then, and it wakes at that moment. There is a flash of light, and Bella comes down out of the air into the arms of an old man who is the richest in the city. He looks at her face and says she is the image of the child his family lost years ago. He takes her home the same day. The family she lands in has money and a long run of bad luck behind it.
