Fatal Obsession: One Night, One Forever

The Shade Guild's best assassin is killed on a job and comes back in the body of Sloane Reed. Sloane's own mother arranges the setup that puts her in a room with Damon Kane, who heads the most powerful family in Jeston, for a single night. Sloane leaves. Five years later she is back in the city with a small son, Miles. Damon takes the boy into his household without knowing whose child he is, and Sloane, needing to be near Miles and unable to walk in as herself, cuts her hair, dresses as a man and hires on as Damon's bodyguard. The work is real. There are people coming after Damon and she is the one standing in front of them, using the guild training that belonged to her first life. Damon spends his days beside a bodyguard he has come to trust completely and cannot place, while the boy in his house gets more familiar to look at by the month, and the woman doing the protecting finds that whatever was between them five years ago has not gone anywhere.
