The Wife Choosing Game

A rich bachelor is holding a game to choose his wife. The candidates are picked in advance, and a broker of poor reputation knows how to put a different woman into one of those places. Grace is the woman who takes one. She is a single mother raising her daughter Linda by herself, and Linda has developed a genetic illness that will kill her unless it is treated. The treatment includes an operation, and Grace cannot raise the money for it. The broker tells her about the game and she goes in under another candidate's name. The bachelor turns out to be Harold, the man she used to go out with. Grace tries to run, and finds she has already walked into a trap he set for her.
