Taming Mr. Champion

Rita needs money for her grandmother's treatment and does not have it. She gets small parts as an actress and her boyfriend has been cheating on her. Mrs. Nelson has her own problem. Her son Reginald, who races cars, has a woman named Maggie around him, and Reginald will not hear a word against Maggie because Maggie once saved his life. The two women come to an arrangement. Rita signs a contract to pose as Reginald's fiancée and to break up what he has with Maggie, and she plays the part. Then she falls for him while she is doing it. Maggie is holding back something of her own, and the contract has to stay hidden.
