The Canary of the Mafia Boss

The Romano family runs a mafia operation, and Valentina's brother has built up gambling debts with them large enough to put his whole family in danger. Valentina is an American who had just finished college and thought she was starting a life of her own. To keep the mob from killing her brother, she agrees to marry Alessandro, who heads the Romano family. After the wedding she is kept in the Romano mansion like a canary, and she keeps looking for a way out. A death threat comes, and she works out a secret escape plan with help from Alessandro's cousin. She has fallen in love with Alessandro by then without registering it.
