Joel Shaw has come back after three years, and the woman he keeps at his side is Lily Marsh, a mortal who has taken credit for saving his life. It was Luna Vale who saved him, and she took the Frost Poison doing it. For Lily he takes Luna's warm jade, her pills and her fated sword, and he calls off the engagement in front of everyone.
