The Prodigy Returns: Truth Has No Forgiveness

Aurora wanted her parents to keep her. She had solved mathematics problems useful to aircraft carrier research, and she was the Winslow daughter who had been lost years earlier, but when they took her back into the house they held her rural upbringing against her, called her plain and coarse, and never ranked her above Luna, the adopted daughter. Luna had her own position to protect and set traps for Aurora, and the family believed Luna every time. In the exam hall Luna copied from Aurora's paper. Their father beat Aurora in front of everyone for it. She went down bleeding and looked up at the faces of her family, and swore that in another life she would collect on all of it. Aurora is born again into the same years. She wants to work out how Luna managed to copy her exam at all. At the next exam Luna arrives with the family around her and starts in on her again, and Aurora cuts off relations with the Winslows in front of the whole room.
