Not the Bride He Wanted

Layla's mate Asher runs off with her sister Vivian. Vivian had been promised to Lucian, the most dangerous Alpha King anyone can remember, and her disappearance leaves that promise unfulfilled with Layla's pack exposed to whatever Lucian decides to do about it. Layla offers to take her sister's place and marry him. Asher, meanwhile, has not understood what he has done. He goes on believing Layla is still his fiancee, that the elopement was a private arrangement with Vivian that changes nothing about his claim on her sister. The two weddings are held at the same time, Layla with Lucian and Asher with Vivian. It is during the ceremonies that Asher finally works out that Vivian used him, that the whole seduction was a way of getting out of a marriage she did not want. Layla is already leaving. Asher takes hold of her before she can go.
