Blind Behind Lies, Love Upon Revenge

The Ruskin family's adopted daughter is treated as slow-witted, and the family uses her as a piece to trade. They send her to a marriage that was arranged for someone else. The groom is a business tycoon the whole city believes is blind in both eyes. The marriage runs on a contract. She plays the fool because it keeps trouble away from her, and he keeps up the blindness because it keeps him out of sight. On the wedding night they share a bed and spend it feeling out what the other one is hiding. She is in fact the figure nobody has identified who holds the commercial lifeblood of the city. He has spent five years preparing, moving one step at a time, for revenge. There is a reason the Ruskins could place her in that house: her face closely resembles the woman he loved and lost, and he sees that woman when he looks at her. Behind it is a traffic accident whose real cause was never told, identities that were swapped, and the schemes of a wealthy family. As the masks come off, the truth turns out to be both a way out and a way down.
