Divorced, Yet Destined to Love Again

Claire Monroe and Ethan Carter were married, and the marriage ended five years ago over something neither of them explained to the other. Claire went through with the divorce without hesitating, which is the part Ethan held against her afterwards. She had his daughter after she left and kept the child from him. Five years on they run into each other again. Ethan puts a contract in front of Claire that keeps her where he can see her, and calls it payback for the way she left. He provokes her, arranges situations meant to corner her, and falls for her again while he is doing it. Claire handles each of these and keeps the child out of sight, because the child is the one thing anyone could use against her. Ethan works out that there is another man and settles on that as the explanation.
