Miss Real Daughter Finally Acts!

She wants a family and has not had one since she was taken from hers as a child. Going back means presenting herself as the daughter who was lost and saying nothing about the rest of her life, that she runs Phoenix Hall and that the name is enough to frighten anyone who hears it. She walks in ready to be pushed around. Another girl has been living in the house as the daughter for years, and she expects that girl to work against her and the family to back the girl. Instead the false daughter does things she cannot account for, and the family favors her in ways that make no sense to her, which leaves her somewhere between laughing and crying. She keeps watching and begins to find that the house has a trouble of its own it has not told her about, and that there is something painful sitting under the way they have been treating her.
