Iron Miracle

The city is built in layers and the mecha pilots run it. Jack comes up from the Lower City and sits the entrance trial at the elite academy, with his father Owens behind him. His synchronization rate comes back at ten thousand. Leon, from one of the noble houses, has the result put under his own name and has Owens beaten. Old John, a marshal who has been out of service for years, steps in at that point and names Jack his successor. Jack is still in the clothes he arrived in, and Blake makes a show of it in front of the others. Jack takes a mecha assembled out of scrap and puts him down with it. He puts the cape on and gives his first order, which cancels the debts of everyone in the Lower City.
