Blinded by His Pride, Crushed by Her Power

Sharon Lynd wants a quiet, plain life. She led the team at the Halora Academy of Sciences that developed universal synthetic blood, and the work won her the Nobel Prize in Medicine, but she lives simply and does not tell people who she is. Her family sets up a match with Howard Ted. On the way to meet him she argues over a parking space with Yvette Smith, the secretary at Howard's company. Yvette throws her weight around, swears at her, and damages the car Sharon is driving. Howard's company is close to collapse. He is arrogant and calculating, and he has already made up his mind about Sharon before he meets her. At the meeting she is insulted repeatedly. The ordinary fruit she brought as a gift is trampled, she is told to pay a large sum in damages, and the people around her laugh at her. He also takes her for a con artist and a car thief. When Yvette's demands go far enough, Sharon answers back. Her real identity comes out, and Howard, whose company needs exactly what she built, has to deal with what he has already done.
