Grain of Eternity

Lyra guards humanity's genetic archive in a wasteland poisoned by dark energy until she discovers that her world is a corporate-controlled comic and her role requires her to die more than a billion times. Oriel, the Creator God who loves her, loses his authority for defying the System and binds his life and pain to hers. Lyra converts the darkness accumulated through her repeated deaths into power, but after another man's sacrifice the System erases her memory and seals her inside a false utopia. Oriel's shared agony wakes her, allowing them to tear through the fictional world into reality, where Lyra takes the author's pen for herself.
