He Gains Power Simply by Eating

Spells are how the world got strong, and Jiang Xu got strong by eating. He woke with the Earth Devourer talent, which turns anything he swallows into power, and since nobody thinks that is a real ability he simply looks like a young man with disgusting habits. Ye Qing, the S-rank ice guild leader, watches him chew through things no one should chew, and concludes he must be a god living in hiding. She promotes him. The two of them are then swallowed whole by an extraplanar heavenly demon, and inside its belly Jiang Xu treats the ruins as a buffet and eats the demon's living core until it spits them back out onto Earth. When the guild is surrounded he opens a global livestream of himself eating, swallows forbidden incantations whole, and takes the attackers apart. The demon's true body descends and he swallows that too. Afterwards he sets up a street stall grilling scrap from broken divine weapons, with S-rank hunters carrying plates to the tables.
