Velvet, Blood & Power

Lila wants the man who destroyed her family dead. Twelve years ago she watched her sister Mira killed with a gold hairpin driven through her throat, on the orders of one of a general's mistresses. The general is Julian Ashford. So she becomes his favorite mistress. She dances, she is beautiful, and she carries a blade under it. She sleeps beside him and waits for the right moment. On the edge of doing it she finds out Mira loved him. She is caught between the hatred she came in with, the truth, and a wanting she never planned on. The wife, the other mistresses, spies and rebels all move around her, and the seduction and the revenge run together.
