Chained to My Rival

Pyrion has spent three hundred years provoking Iker because he is in love with him and has never said so. Iker takes the provocation for hostility, and where he notices anything else in it he reads it as interest in his sister Laela, which puts them further apart. Olympus opens a thirteenth throne. Pyrion's power comes from the sea and Iker's from fire, and the two of them are entered against each other in the Ember Trial for the seat. The feud goes far enough that Zeus binds them together with the Chain of Fate. They live in the same quarters, train, and have to make two opposed powers work as one. The constant company wears at what each of them assumed about the other.
