In Crisis, I Found the Dragon Soul!

Ah Yimu kills a two-headed remnant soul in the ancient realm and takes the thousand-year glacial essence from it, and the Black Stone tribe makes her their chief on the strength of it. Tie Mutai, who held the position before her, does not accept the vote and goes to the Blazing Sun tribe to get his power back, bringing their fighters and their trained hellhounds in against his own people. What Ah Yimu has that they do not know about is Xiao Hei, the remnant soul of an ancient dragon lord, whose mind is joined to hers and whose strength she can draw on as her own. She spends the time she has improving the tribe's farming and feeding people properly while she hunts for two relics, the forbidden scale and the water of life, and puts her own informants inside the enemy camp. There is also a blood curse a thousand years old running through the bloodlines, which is bound up with the dragon soul, and undoing it is the only way any lasting peace between the hundred tribes will hold.
