Marry me, My enemy

Daniel is inside a gang as a police plant, and Louis is being held there. They came up through the police academy together. Daniel makes a show of taking an interest in the prisoner, loud and careless about it, and keeps Louis at his side where the rest of them can see, so that nobody looks any closer at either of them. Jack goes after Louis. He puts poison in front of him more than once and arranges things so that Louis will be blamed. Daniel takes the poison himself rather than let it reach him. Above Jack there is Madam Yulian, who runs the trade and keeps her own counsel, and Jack keeps working at the two of them, looking for the crack. Neither man says anything about what has grown between them by then. A banquet is coming that has been laid as a trap, and the two of them agree to put on a falling-out in front of the room, with the police in on it.
