Dragon Pact: The Abandoned Heir

The Candle Dragon took up residence inside Zhang Jin'an's body and left him unable to tame anything, and in the Zhang family that made him a waste. They carried him to an abyss and dropped him in to draw out whatever was living at the bottom. Before the dragon he had been the best beast tamer the family had produced. He was down there waiting when the Candle Dragon woke. With it behind him he forced a contract on a golden lion that carried red flame. Zhang Jin'an cut himself off from the Zhang family, went back for the people who had thrown him down, and entered the Witchlands academy. He went through the old clans and the strongest fighters there, and while he did it he was working backwards toward where the divine beasts came from. The blood of the first beast lords was in him and it started to wake.
